Tasting Notes: from the tasting room

Whew, what a hectic few weeks we’ve had! The final few days of March and first days of April were spent the same way for most of us in the area – drying out our basements! Although my husband Alex and I saw a foot and a half or so of water in our basement we were better off than many others in the area. Luckily for us we dried enough to head out on our vacation!

Easter week Alex and I headed out on our first cruise! After much suggestion and prodding by family and friends we took the plunge and planned a trip along with his sister and brother-in-law. Would I recommend cruising to you? Sure! A week of sun and perfect temperatures filled with great food and drink just couldn’t sound too bad. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves with a great mix of relaxing, sightseeing, and indulging.

One hot spot for the four of us on the cruise was the wine bar. Ours featured a nice selection of wines and several tasting samplers to help find your favorite. Love a wine in the sampler? Ask the wine bar staff and they will send a bottle to your dinner table, ready to enjoy that evening.

Now a few weeks post-vacation I am catching up on projects at the winery and gearing up for the summer season – right around the corner! If you haven’t heard already, our new addition for the year will be a bar outside on the stone patio. We’re hoping you will enjoy the convenience of another location to snag a glass of your favorite and chat with us too!

These first days of May are forecasting several days of fantastic weather and an early peek at summer. Just in time we have released our second vintage of Estate Connecticut Pinot Gris! Make sure you drop in soon for a sip as this one won’t last – I think we are as excited to have it ready as anyone!
