We are up and down the valley for our different varietals, but St Helena is a favorite!
Seriously? Could the Merlot be any more gorgeous?

a welcome sight as you enter Napa Valley

Bob and Karen Edwards have been overseeing the Harvest in Napa Valley since mid September. As many of you know, we got our start in California over ten years ago and continue to offer both Estate Grown Connecticut and Napa Valley wines. Our philosophy continues to celebrate the benefit of growing grapes on both coasts and our 'New England Charm. Napa Style' business model. In California, we have cultivated the long term relationships with our growers and farm vineyards year after year to ensure quality and consistency. Bob and Karen are out there again this Fall carefully overseeing the Harvest and ensuring a safe send-off for the young wines trek back to the only JE Winery here in Connecticut!

While we had a somewhat earlier and bountiful harvest here in Connecticut earlier in September, there was a fair amount of waiting {and meeting with the growers, calculating the yields anticipated and oh.. enjoying the culinary delights of the region} for the sugars {brix} to rise after a chillier Northern California summer. Here are a few snapshots from our West Coast operations this Fall!

We are happy to report the Harvest is in full swing, the young wine is getting ready for its cross country journey in 330 gallon containers in huge refrigerated trucks to our cellar in Connecticut for barrel aging, bottling and distribution!

More to report from Bob and Karen directly on their JE adventures out West!
