Napa Harvest 2010 Complete: JE Image Journal

Karen Edwards writes: "Uninvited but most welcome observers of the Petite Sirah Harvest. This is a very common early morning sighting around these parts."
"Sadly it's Katie's last night in Napa. To celebrate, we go to one of our favorite restaurants in St. Helena- Cindy's Backstreet Kitchen. If there is such a thing as gourmet comfort food, this place has it."
"Rudy and Dawn, the father and daughter team making sure the Petite Sirah is picked to perfection. And it is!"
"Can you believe all these tanks are filled with JE wines? They are just about finished fermenting. Bob (and Katie and I) tests once or twice a day to be sure the sugars are going, going, gone."

Quintessential Napa sighting- leftover stems after the crusher-destemmer does its work!

Bob and Karen Edwards wrapped up their Napa Harvest last week, the wine fermented and is getting ready for the cross-country journey to our cellar in Connecticut to barrel age. The first refrigerated tractor-trailer with our young wine made its way here this week. While out West, the Edwards were happy to get a visit from their granddaughter, Katie who watched them at work. Here are a few last images and words from Karen Edwards as they wrapped up their successful West Coast Operations for JE!
