It was a close one. Thank you to the more than 300 foodies who joined us on Sunday evening for the sold out Culinary Showdown to benefit New England Farms! The weather held and the Springtime greens and colorful blossoms made for a perfect backdrop at the winery for a good ole' fashioned state rivalry. The food was delicious {whet your whistle when we post the menu next}, the wine was flowing and the competition was on!
The winners? The Daniel Packer Inne (Connecticut) for best signature dish and best state overall went to the very rowdy and proud, Rhode Island! Both Connecticut Farmland Trust and Farm Fresh Rhode Island- our beneficiaries- were winners too (with the bigger donation going to the overall state winner- Rhode Island). Lively crowd, great Jazz, ten delicious dishes, JE wine a-flowin' and all for a good cause. Is it too corny to say, every one was a winner on Sunday?
